Building an innovative and lean organization: Alphial Academy x Kaizen Institute

In Alphial, the pursuit of optimization and employee training are considered fundamental and constant variables.
On September 19 and 20, 2024, the first two days of a project took place, involving some employees in the Academy Alphial dedicated to Kaizen, with the aim of discovering new lean working methods.

During the first meeting of the Academy, colleagues delved into the history of the Kaizen work method and its philosophy, initially focusing on identifying “Muda.” In this context, “Muda” is a term used in the Kaizen approach to indicate waste in the realm of lean organization. The goal for those working in this area is to reduce the “Muda” to achieve “Kaizen,” or perfection.

Specifically, the focus of the first Kaizen meeting was the Alphial team’s identification of internal Muda within the organization, which are typically subtle to workers, both from a personnel and production process perspective. Subsequently, the task became to find solutions through team collaboration to reduce Muda and transform them into opportunities for change and innovation for the company. To do this effectively, the team conducted analyses in the production field to develop an actionable plan aimed at making work leaner.

The Academy Alphial not only aims to create a smarter and more innovative work environment but also to bring together people from different facilities and build stronger connections to encourage collaboration and team problem-solving.

In the spirit of continuous improvement, Alphial is preparing for the next Kaizen meeting to explore lean working methods further that can reduce processing times and costs.
